Cabforce partners with Eurostar to connect train journeys and station transfers

11 June, 2015

Helsinki, Finland – Cabforce is extending its range of service, through a new partnership with Eurostar that puts stations on the map.

For your next train journey to Europe, Cabforce can now offer taxi transfers in all Eurostar’s destinations – in the heart of London, Brussels, Paris, Lyon and even Eurostar’s new destination in the South of France.

Cabforce’s pre-booked ground transport service is available in all product categories at Eurostar stations: best value, executive and minibus. That means a driver will be waiting with your name on a sign when you arrive, letting you skip the inevitable queues at taxi ranks, and get straight to business meetings, the Eiffel Tower, or the beach – more smoothly.

“Eurostar offers a highly practical, downtown-to-downtown service,” says Cabforce Chief Product Officer Tommi Holmgren.

“Now with our Cabforce quality-assured product, we’ve linked up every part of your journey from London to mainland Europe and back again. Starting your Eurostar journey with a Cabforce transfer to the train station is the most convenient, seamless way to book a journey,” Holmgren says.

Eurostar passengers receive a pre-travel email to remind them about taxi booking options, with a link to the Eurostar booking site for cabs and mini-buses, powered by Cabforce. The best aggregated prices, and other service options are displayed on the screen.

Lionel Benbassat, Head of Marketing, Brand and Product at Eurostar says, “We are pleased to extend our taxi booking services to all our customers with the launch of this exciting new partnership with Cabforce which will enable our customers to enjoy a more streamlined experience linking their train journey with transfers at either end. With the new booking platform, passengers will benefit from door-to-door service as they travel from the heart of London to Paris, Lille, Brussels, Lyon or even  the South of France.”

Cabforce and myDriver Unify Germany Airport Transfer Market

Helsinki, Finland – February 9th, 2015

Flying to Germany? Cabforce has got you covered. In fact, thanks to our new partnership with myDriver, we’ve got pretty much the whole of Germany covered.

So whether you’re arriving at Kiel in the north, departing from Munich in the south, or 18 other airport destinations across Germany, Cabforce’s pre-booked ground transport service is available in all product categories: best value, executive and minibus in partnership with myDriver – part of Sixt, the world’s fifth largest car rental company.

“Before now, airport taxi services in Germany were expensive and not always reliable, so we decided to tear down the wall of high prices and inefficient service” explains Petteri Niemi, Cabforce Chief Operating Office. “Our partnership with myDriver, backed by the strong brand reputation of Sixt, allows us to unify Germany and offer attractive lower prices while maintaining the reliably high service levels that Cabforce customers, and taxi company partners around the world, have come to expect” he says.

“myDriver customers are assured of high service levels with our drivers and cars, and extremely cost-effective transportation at every major airport in Germany.” explains Dr. Carl Schuster, CEO of myDriver. Professional chauffeurs bring you in premium vehicles quickly and comfortably to your destination – and all of that at prices similar to taxis. The service is availabe across Germany and is distinguished by advantages such as cash-free payment, a fixed price before the ride, and comfortable booking process. “We are pleased about the partnership with Cabforce as we continue to expand internationally” says Dr. Schuster.

The service expansion in Germany comes as Cabforce continues to roll out its booking platform worldwide. Fully integrated with the Amadeus and Travelport systems, when travel agents or corporate travelers book a flight they also have the option to book one of our quality assured pre-booked taxis on six continents, filling the gaps between airport and hotels, with the Cabforce service aggregating the best prices: a win for both travel agents and travellers.

“Booking transfers has never been easier” says Janne Aarniovuori, Head of Agency Solutions at Cabforce. “You can now add taxis and airport transfers to a PNR with just a few clicks, which enables travel agents using the Amadeus Selling Platform, Amadeus e-Travel Management or Travelport Smartpoint to offer a wider service portfolio to their customers – with the taxi booking data automatically transferred to the agency’s back office systems” he adds.

More Funding, More Growth As Cabforce Puts The Pedal To The Metal

It’s always exciting to start the new year with some good news. You may have read recently in Talouselämä and Tnooz that we raised €1.5m funding from private investors and Finnvera. This comes hot on the heels of some other important, game-changing deals not only for Cabforce, but also for the way the travel industry does business – integrating our technology into the booking processes of major players like Travelport and Amadeus.

I’m really impressed and proud of the whole Cabforce team, and what we’ve collectively achieved during 2014, not only looking at our recent high profile successes, but also how we’ve further extended the coverage and quality of our supply network now serving close to 250 airports on six continents.

When we started Cabforce back in 2009, we had the luxury of starting with a blank canvas; without any kind of legacy, and with the clear requirements of travel in mind. We wanted to do one thing properly, to fill the gap of door-to-door travel – and our niche was surprisingly quiet for a number of years. Meanwhile, a lot of attention and money poured into on-demand consumer-focused taxi apps. You’ve probably seen those headlines, or maybe you’ve got an app on your phone. But while they’ve been stealing the limelight, we’ve been working hard to build our full-fledged booking platform for travel-connected pre-booked taxis and transfers. And the hard work is paying off.

Our TMC, OTA and airline products are now ready, and we’ve forged strong partnerships both on the demand and supply side. I can also sense some movement right now in the industry with regards to ground transportation – several major players are currently showing serious interest for pre-booked taxis and transfers, with some of them aggressively aiming to get this “last missing vertical” of online travel bookings into their offering.

So as we drive further into 2015, pushing our foot on the accelerator pedal, we continue to focus on our position as the industry’s leading aggregator and booking platform for taxis and transfers. Full speed ahead!

Amadeus Taxi & Transfer solution available on SAS website, in partnership with Cabforce

Amadeus includes a global transfer solution in its offer to airline partners

Madrid, 19 December, 2014: Amadeus has closed the gap of the “first and last mile” of the air journey, by announcing the launch of the Amadeus Taxi & Transfer solution in partnership with Cabforce, with Scandinavian Airlines as launch partner.

Airlines can now integrate a hassle free “one-stop-shop” in their website, offering a wider range of additional products and services to their customers to increase bookings and revenues.

Cabforce, a leading player in the pre-arranged taxi-transfer solution market, will provide its experience and expertise in the optimisation of the booking process and its excellent customer communication helping increase adoption of the feature. Cabforce’s taxi-transfer services are already available through the self-booking tool – Amadeus e-Travel Management – and the travel agencies’ point of sales – Amadeus Selling Platform -, but this partnership marks the first time that a taxi-transfer solution is integrated in an airline’s website. Cabforce’s taxi content is available in six continents, and Amadeus and Cabforce will be working together to add more destinations to this growing list.

The Amadeus Taxi & Transfer offer is currently bookable through SAS’ website, with several other airlines in the pipeline to implement this solution. This agreement comes at a time when there is an ever growing focus by airlines on the ancillary services offering as a complementary revenue source; whilst in parallel travellers are looking for the seamless travel experience which this solution provides.

Karl Eklund, Head of Digital Sales, SAS, said: “We have seen an increasing demand for services like this and are happy to offer this solution to SAS customers. Booking airport transfer prior to arrival can make journeys less stressful. We are pleased to be the launch partner and are looking forward to developing this service together with Amadeus and Cabforce.”

Andreas Hansson, CEO, Cabforce, said: “We have ploughed in enormous amounts of time, effort and expertise during the years to build our technology platform and test the service with early adopter customers. The partners we speak to just love what we have created. The cooperation with Amadeus is a strong indicator that the market is now ready for what we have envisioned and an important step for Cabforce towards full exposure in international business travel.”

Peter Altmann, Head of Amadeus Cars and Transfers, commented: “We have been working hard to add a new Cross-Sell Ancillary Service to our portfolio in response to the demands of our airline customers and we are glad to launch our Amadeus Taxi & Transfer solution with two excellent pilot partners. This solution completes our door-to-door offering, establishing us as the reliable IT partner in taxi-transfer solutions for the sector. We look forward to improving the solution by adding new airline and taxi-transfer partners in the near future and making the content available in all Amadeus channels.”

Travelport and Cabforce celebrate global launch through Travelport Marketplace

Cabforce success highlights Travelport Developer Network innovation.

Langley, UK. November 12, 2014: Travelport (NYSE:TVPT), a leading Travel Commerce Platform providing distribution, technology, payment and other solutions for the $7 trillion global travel and tourism industry, and Cabforce, the Finland-based provider of taxi and airport transfer booking solutions to the travel industry, celebrated the global launch of Cabforce through the Travelport Marketplace e-commerce platform at the 2014 PhoCusWright conference.

With first year growth in 2014 surging above 200-percent based on travel agency adoption in the United Kingdom and South Africa alone, Cabforce’s plug-in already is creating greater efficiencies, new revenue streams, and increased client satisfaction for travel agencies. Cabforce expects its growth to continue once the plug-in is available worldwide following this month’s commercial launch of Travelport Marketplace.

“The Cabforce plugin has become an immediate success in our office,” said Scott Pawley, managing director of the Great Britain-based Global Travel Management, one of the United Kingdom’s leading travel management companies. “Cabforce gives us the ability to offer more to our clients, with very little additional effort.”

Travelport Marketplace is a key part of Travelport’s Open Platform strategy. Travelport Developer Network (TDN) members can make use of the Travelport Software Development Kit (SDK) and Travelport Universal API (application programming interface) to build new, innovative products and then to promote their products to travel agencies through the Travelport Marketplace. For travel agencies, the Travelport Marketplace provides easy access to a wide range of products covering all aspects of agency operations, products that improve agency productivity, allow for additional services, and create new revenue streams.

“Cabforce gives travel agencies a simple, efficient, and best-of-class user experience to book taxis seamlessly integrated into the agent’s normal workflow, with the taxi booking data automatically going into their back-end systems” said Andreas Hansson, chief executive officer of Cabforce. “Thanks to the opportunities provided by the Travelport Developer’s Network, Cabforce is poised to build on our growth in early markets and increase our presence amongst travel agencies in European markets through Travelport Marketplace.”

“Travelport is excited about the success Cabforce already has achieved as a valuable member of our Developer Network,” said Pieter Van der Voort, partnership and alliance director for Travelport’s European Middle East Africa (EMEA) region. “Working with Cabforce is a great example of Travelport’s belief that one size does not fit all. We partner with innovative partners like Cabforce to ensure we can offer our agency customers the solutions they need to be profitable and efficient. Through TDN and the Travelport Marketplace, Travelport is redefining access to travel solutions around the world.”
