Introducing Cabforce OneView – new multi-channel view of all agency bookings

All Cabforce bookings made by an agency and it’s customers are now visible in OneView – regardless of the booking channel

In today’s hectic environment of a business travel agency, large number of customer contacts to a service team are not only related to making new bookings, but to rebooking and modifying existing travel itineraries. Moreover, travel agents are also required to manage all customer bookings efficiently, whether the booking channel is a corporate online booking tool or a service team.

In March we have successfully released the first version of an integrated agency view for Cabforce Smart Tab in Amadeus Selling Platformthat allowed agents to manage the bookings they have created right in the tool.

We did not stop after the first release, because we wanted to fully support the channel parity and meet travel agencies’ needs better. Today we are bringing live the second version, and giving it a new name of OneView. Being unique in the market, it makes possible to view and fully manage absolutely all Cabforce bookings made within one agency, including rides booked through Amadeus e-Travel Management or any other agency specific Cabforce booking channel or tool.

“For our travel agency partners this means full multi-channel visibility of all Cabforce bookings made and a possibility for agents to perform all actions related to ground transportation without ever leaving Amadeus GDS desktop,” explains Janne Aarniovuori, Head of Agency Solutions at Cabforce. “This makes Cabforce the first complete solution in the market, which does not only enable agents to create, but also manage complete door-to-door itineraries booked for their travellers – regardless of the booking channel.”

We would like to name some of the key features from our latest release, which make taxi and transfer booking process even easier and more convenient for travel agents:

  • List and manage all bookings made within an agency – regardless of the booking channel
  • View booking status (open, OK, cancelled, finished)
  • View full ride details and manage bookings (cancel booking, resend voucher, re-write miscellaneous segments and remarks to PNR)

With Cabforce OneView you are able to provide superior customer service to your clients. The level of customer satisfaction increases, as you maximise efficiency: we help you delight your travelers, as you are now able to minimise response time via instant multi-channel access to all the bookings.

Activate OneView now by sending a request to and specifying “OneView Activation” in the subject field!

The first version of an integrated agency view has also been launched for travel agencies using Travelport Smartpoint. At the moment we are working hard to release OneView and make its fabulous features available also for Smartpoint users! Stay tuned!

Cabforce Taxis and Transfers now available in m-Power mobile app by Amadeus

Last year we partnered with Amadeus to bring Cabforce Taxis and Airport Transfers to travel agents’ desktops. Cabforce’s integration with Amadeus Selling Platform service helps travel agents take the complexity and uncertainty out of door to door travel. With just a few clicks they are now able to pre-book taxis and transfers for their travellers just as they book flights and hotels. Our global rollout is moving with the fast pace, as we are making life easier for the 400,000 agents worldwide, who use the Amadeus Selling Platform.

Today we are proud to announce that Cabforce Taxis and Transfers are now also a part of Amadeus m-Power app, a comprehensive end-to-end mobile solution, which makes it possible for the travel agencies to accompany their travellers at every step of the trip and reach them any time with pre-trip, on-trip and post-trip services. m-Power travel app allows travellers, for example, to instantly access the trip information, efficiently manage itineraries on the go, organise flights, share experience with friends, and store personal details and preferences.

The integration of Cabforce Taxis and Transfers with m-Power will not only allow travellers to manage and organise their flights, but also pre-book reliable and safe flat-rate airport transfers whenever and wherever they are. The users of the travel app receive instant access to hundreds of ground transportation providers from the same mobile solution.

“Integration of Cabforce booking engine with m-Power complements the high quality travel app made by Amadeus,” says Tommi Holmgren, Cabforce Chief Product Officer. “Today mobile is becoming more important than ever – passengers are not only viewing the trip information on the go, but also booking directly through their mobile devices. Our partnership with Amadeus adds great value both to the travel agencies and the passengers: Cabforce’s safe, certified and reliable rides are now easily available also via the m-Power mobile app,“ he explains.

The integration of Cabforce booking engine with m-Power travel app allows travel agencies increase their level of service by providing their customers a possibility to book door to door travel itineraries. Cabforce fills in the missing ground transportation link by creating additional value and boosting revenue per customer at the same time.

“We are pleased to have Cabforce as our partner. It’s also worth to mention that their development team has delivered a high quality customised booking engine over a very short period of time, which reduced the overall launch time,” comments Ghassan Teffaha, Head of Mobile WEMEA at Amadeus IT Group. “I think that travel agencies will love that their travellers will also be able to now book taxis as they book flights. Taxi booking feature will not only increase the level of service provided by the travel agencies to their travellers, but also create additional opportunities for revenue growth,” he explains.

Provider names now visible in all our integrated applications

First a brief summary: you can now see the name of the local taxi or transfer providers when booking Cabforce rides from all our integrated booking applications. You requested it. We did it. Enjoy!

Cabforce AeTM multiple brands
Then the long story…

We’ve been working quite some time to take steps towards true aggregation of taxi and transfer services. Andreas wrote about what we call Cabregation just a few months ago. For you it means you’ve the choice of choosing which local provider want to ride with. Up until now we’ve not disclosed the name of the local providers. But as we’ve heard this request from so many of our users, and as we have multiple options in many markets, it’s now time to take this next step!

We are happy to announce from today, that we have two types of taxi and transfer companies available in all our integrated booking apps.

  1. Branded more known providers, usually larger national or international players, promoted in the search results under their own brand name. You get to pick your favourite one. There’s a lot of good news coming in this area for various markets, so stay tuned!
  2. Local trusted providers presented as “Cabforce certified partner” in the search results. We’ve got an impressive network of awesome, usually smaller local providers, who’s name you probably haven’t heard before. We’ve carefully screened them, and worked with them long enough to know they are reputable, good and honest. To keep it simple we decided to keep them all under one umbrella.

One thing has not changed. Cabforce is still not an open marketplace. We continue to maintain very strict quality standard and policies on who do we accept to be available in our platform. This also to ensure that every provider, and every single one of their drivers, is licensed and properly insured. To make sure you and your colleagues can ride conveniently and safely where ever you travel!

Cabforce Arrives At Amadeus Travel Agent Desktops

Our newest product is now up and running – making travel even more seamless for travel agents and passengers alike.

We’ve partnered with Amadeus to bring the Cabforce taxi booking platform to travel agents’ desktops as a SmartTab in Amadeus Selling Platform. Through our global partnership agreement with Amadeus, any agency anywhere can now have access to Cabforce content in over 140 of our destinations worldwide.

What does this mean in practice? Well our booking solution is now fully integrated to the Amadeus Selling Platform agent desktop product. So when a travel agent books a flight, they also have the option to book one of our reliable flat-rate Cabforce taxis as well. We just made life easier for the 400,000 agents worldwide who use the Amadeus Selling Platform.

Those travel agents can offer a wider range of services to their customers – filling in the gaps between airport and hotels – with the Cabforce service aggregating the best prices and most reliable, quality assured pre-booked taxis on six continents.

The solution has been piloted in Finland together with Amadeus Finland and Carlson Wagonlit Travel Finland and is now ready for global roll-out.

The Cabforce booking platform is fully integrated with the Amadeus desktop, which makes it very easy and efficient for travel agents to make taxi bookings, at the same time as they’re reserving seats on a plane or nights in a hotel. In short, it offers the traveller more choice and a higher level of service. And all of this is fully integrated into travel agents’ booking flow and Amadeus PNR.

Until now, booking taxis hasn’t really been a part of the services which travel agents offer – or at least there hasn’t been a cost effective way of doing it. Our solution, fully integrated with Amadeus Selling Platform, solves that problem. Read more about the Cabforce SmartTab for Amadeus Selling Platform and learn how to get it for your agency.

Day 2 @ PhoCusWright Conference

The second day kicked off with the workshops where various industry players were sharing their best practices and lessons learned. The afternoon was reserved for the most anticipated keynote presentations, started with rather emotional and powerful “monologue” about the state of the industry, growth and innovation by PhoCusWright Chairman Philip Wolf. You can watch it here.

The hot topic of the day definitely was ITA Software by Google keynote by Jeremy Wertheimer, VP Travel at Google. I’m sure Google entering the travel business through acquisition of ITA Software has been a steaming hot topic inside online travel agency and meta search company boardrooms in recent months.

Jeremy was talking about current state of Google travel products and also giving some hints about future direction. He focused on Google Hotel Finder and Google Flight Search products. The keynote was followed by an interesting talkback session with Kayak CEO Steve Hafner and Amadeus VP Denis Lacroix. You can watch the full keynote and talkback session online here. Definitely worth spending half an hour!

Google Hotel Finder

According to Jeremy, the Google Hotel Finder is a natural result of user behaviour. Google sees massive traffic of hotel search, and thus has started to offer more for users. In Hotel Finder, user can easily adjust parameters of hotels search including very visual way to limit results to the most interesting areas on the map and to keep shortlist of candidates.

For booking the hotel, Google has introduced Hotel Ads, which link to online travel agencies and booking sites, such as Expedia, and Google also links directly to owner sites for booking.

The hotel search is nothing überspecial compared to and There’s just one innovation on limiting results on the map. For more innovative hotel search, try But it’s Google, so as they have significant search volumes, they add one layer in the value chain and of course charge travel agencies for the leads they are producing.

Google Flight Search

Just about 150 days after ITA Software acquisition Google unveiled their Flight search using the same technology that has been used by for example Kayak. ITA is working with several airlines to improve the user experience of their own website flight search, and thus has the access to relevant content directly with airlines.

Flight search is still limited to US and lacks for example business class, but according to Jeremy they just made what they can fast and exposed it to users to get feedback. International searches are however in development along with several other improvements.

The tool is very minimalistic in the Google way, but it’s very easy to view the pricing changes over day and to apply your own parameters. I recommend to play around with it! The downside is that it still lacks some content and you can not do everything with it. But that’s also the beauty of it: simplicity. A bit like in the beginning (which nowadays is cluttered with features and information overload).

Now comes the part online travel agencies are concerned with: Google directs the user to book directly at airline sites (with “Flight Ads”). No online travel agencies included in the price results at all. According to Jeremy, this is due to requirement of the airlines in order Google to use their content. It’s significant thing. Google is replacing the online travel agencies. Of course Google claims that it does not do packaging of flights and hotels, sell any additional services etc which means it’s not on the same level with OTAs.

Google has tremendous position to change the industry mechanics. And as Jeremy stressed several times in his keynote, Google does things users want to use. Only then they think about ways to get revenues. There’s surely more to see from Google in Travel (they have 500+ people working on it in Cambridge). According to Tnooz, car rentals could be next?
